Uniting traditions and new technologies
Within three days, the Forum platforms became a space for discussions on preserving cultural identity and openness to the world, developing international cultural relations, uniting traditions and new technologies. The key topic "United cultures - common values" united the business and cultural programmes and was continued in the specific proposals of the participants.
More than 4,500 people from more than 70 countries became participants in the Forum and media representatives. 43 foreign official delegations arrived in St. Petersburg, 18 of which were headed by ministers of culture. The main and youth programmes were attended by the representatives of cultural institutions, authorities, professional associations, the creative community and international organizations.
The business programme included 84 events in ten topical areas.
The basic platform of the Forum was again the building of the General Staff of the State Hermitage. In the modern museum space in the historical centre of St. Petersburg, the main events of the business programme were held.
The Forum continued outside the main venue. The regional programme of St. Petersburg brought together 26 events in museums, theaters, educational and other cultural institutions of the city.
A special place this year was occupied by the cultural programme. The Culture Festival “St. Petersburg seasons” that is annually held by the St. Petersburg Administration and the Roscongress Foundation, has brought together more than 120 events, becoming a continuation of professional dialogue in the language of art.
The Forum has established itself as a unique discussion platform for cooperation in the field of culture and art. Its participants exchanged ideas, discussed trends and topical issues of the development of the modern cultural environment. Traditionally, most of the initiatives and agreements reached in the near future are transformed into many bright projects.
