Our newspaper was founded in November 1957 under the name "For Communism." It was Dubna's first city newspaper. More than 150 issues were published annually, chronicling the detailed history of the city, its businesses, public organizations, and, of course, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

Since 1964, the newspaper has been the printed organ of JINR, and in 1980, the name and frequency were changed. Thus, the JINR weekly "Dubna: Science, Commonwealth, Progress" was born.

"We are for the international nature of science, for the community of scientists, for progress in all areas of human activity" - these words belong to one of the newspaper's editors, and the newspaper's activities have been guided by this principle for almost seventy years.

Visits by world-class scientists, government and embassy delegations from JINR member and partner countries, reports on international conferences, the construction of physics experiment facilities, and announcements of discoveries and new results on the pages of our publication reveal the complex, multifaceted, yet endlessly fascinating world of science. And on these same pages are the faces of citizens of all ages, reports on holidays, festivals, new books, and topical issues. Ultimately, we see the intimate interweaving of human destinies, the achievements of the Joint Institute, the development of a city of physicists, and the creation of a unique, creative environment in Dubna.

The newspaper is published on Thursdays, with a circulation of 500 copies, and is distributed free of charge within the JINR campus.
