MCE Conference again held in Dubna

33rd International Conference "Mathematics. Computer. Education" started on Monday in Dubna State University. This interdisciplinary conference brings together biologists, specialists in mathematical modeling, philologists, employees of research centres, universities and institutes, museums, libraries during student vacations.

Welcoming the Conference participants, Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee Vladimir Korenkov (MLIT) recalled that for many years MLIT JINR had been the venue for it. For the third time, the Conference is held at the University, but the Joint Institute is still involved in its organization. The fact that the Conference has already taken hold at the University was confirmed by Rector A.S.Denikin, "We are always pleased and honored to see you within the walls of the University, to participate in interesting discussions, to learn about new results. Reforms of secondary education, including mathematics, have been going on for 30 years, it worries us a lot in Dubna. Dubna has become a point where new approaches to the new school textbooks are developed. Welcome to Dubna and good luck, dear friends!"

"For us, the Conference has become native almost from the very beginning," Vladimir Korenkov shared. "Many of those who laid the foundations of our Laboratory became co-founders of this Conference. With Yu.I.Zhuravlev, A.A.Samarsky, D.S.Chernavsky, S.P.Kurdyumov, B.N.Chetverushkin and other active participants in this Conference, we have collaborated in the Laboratory. I have probably participated in a hundred different conferences and there is no other such multidisciplinary in the world." Vladimir Korenkov told the participants about JINR, its structure and basic facilities.

By video link, everyone was greeted by Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference G.Yu.Riznichenko (Moscow State University). She recalled the story of its development that the Conference had been supported by R.Pose, in those years Director of LCTA. He offered to spend it alternately in Pushchino and Dubna. The Conference was supported by JINR Director V.G.Kadyshevsky and since then, it has been held here at the Pushchino Biological Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences. "It is important for us that the Conference is held in such large scientific centres. Participants coming from different cities of Russia can learn about scientific achievements, see how people work. All JINR Directors spoke at our conferences - V.G.Kadyshevsky, A.N.Sissakian, V.A.Matveev and G.V.Trubnikov, leading scientists of the Institute have spoken. The Conference includes several sections representing biology and the application of various mathematical and informational techniques, primarily, in biology. The most valuable thing in our Conference is the cooperation of representatives of different sciences, the exchange of experience in the use of information technologies, a friendly atmosphere. I wish these qualities to be preserved." Galina Yurievna thanked her colleagues from the Department of Biophysics of the Biological Faculty of Moscow State University for many years of assistance in organizing the event and wished interesting reports, a benevolent atmosphere and new contacts to its participants.

The Conference will conclude on Saturday.
