These days we once again cross the line between the past and the future.

The history of our Institute was enriched by the achievements of 2025, the results of the work of a large friendly international staff. We highlight with satisfaction the implementation of the Seven-Year Plan for Development of JINR in 2024-2030, the contribution of the Member States to the implementation of major projects of the Institute, obtaining new scientific results, participation in collaboration projects, as well as educational activities.

Applied development, the development of multidisciplinary research, of life sciences and of accelerators for applied and medical purposes should be emphasized. In 2025, the publication activity of the Institute in a wide range of scientific areas was high that indicates the efficiency of our scientific work at the level of the world's largest scientific centres. Dozens of major scientific conferences, meetings and schools were held both in Dubna and in other cities, JINR Member States and Partner States.

The multifaceted activities of the Institute as an international intergovernmental scientific organization allowed to attract new countries and partners to cooperation. Work is currently carried out to strengthen the human resources of the Institute, as well as scientific and educational activities in the interests of training highly qualified specialists.

In the implementation of the NICA Megascience Project, a beam of heavy xenon ions was injected into the collider ring for the first time, the key phase of commissioning starts that precedes the start of physical experiments. A cryogenic compressor station was put into operation and thus, development of a cryogenic infrastructure for VBLHEP, capable of cooling all accelerators of the NICA Complex was completed.

The development of the Baikal-GVD Deep Underwater Neutrino Telescope, as well as the infrastructure on the shores of Lake Baikal for the permanent deployment of scientific and technical personnel and equipment progresses well.

Work on preparing for the synthesis of elements 119 and 120 of the periodic table is underway, three events of the synthesis of the ²⁸²Nh isotope are registered, according to plans, the development of the acceleration complex DRIBs-III is underway.

The repair work on the IBR-2 reactor has been successfully completed, the user programme has started.

Progress in the development of JINR MICC was highlighted, including the expansion of the multi-level data storage and processing system of the Govorun supercomputer.

In the future 2026, we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, implement new scientific ideas, develop facilities and open new social infrastructure facilities. Every year, our Institute provides more and more opportunities for the employees for comfortable work, talent realization and outdoor activities among colleagues. This is a special environment of like-minded people, connoisseurs of knowledge, culture, art. This all is what we call the achievements of our civilization.
