Vernissage

Expressing thoughts, feelings, ideas

The exhibition of paintings by Vlad Kravchuk has become a tradition for the summer in the Cultural Centre "Mir". This is a great opportunity for art lovers to immerse themselves in the colorful world of paintings of the artist that finds inspiration in the beauty of nature and masterfully embodies it on canvas.

The grand opening of the exhibition and a meeting with the author will be held on 5 July at 5:00 PM. Until 20 August, everyone will be able to visit the exhibition hall of the Cultural Centre "Mir" and learn about the picturesque world of our fellow countryman. On the eve of the opening, we talked to the artist about art, new paintings and about impressions that are so important for creative people.

Vlad, a year has passed, a new summer has come and we traditionally open your exhibition. What has this year been like creatively for you?

"The past year was inspiring and fruitful for me. I had two big exhibitions in Moscow. The rest of the time I dedicated to preparing for my summer exhibition in Dubna, for it is always very important for me. I would like to present you new paintings, to share my ideas, inspiration and creativity, to get feedback.

It is generally agreed that it is impossible to derive a formula for the success of an artist, but what do you think - is it so?

- The question of the formula for an artist's success, it seems to me, is complex and implies different points of view. I believe that the formula for success in art cannot be unequivocally defined or deduced, since the success of an artist largely depends on many factors. Each artist has his own unique circumstances, style and goals, so what works for one artist may not work for another. Success in art is also often subjective. I think that there is no universal formula, yet with constant development, dedication and desire for self-expression, an artist can increase his chances of achieving success in his field.

What does the art of our time hold for us?

- I believe that art in our time primarily reflects the surrounding reality, the complexity and versatility of the modern world, stimulates dialogues, raises new questions and reflections. If we talk specifically about contemporary art, then it opens up new ways of communication and interaction with the audience. Contemporary artists have the opportunity to use a variety of techniques, materials and media, including digital technologies, installations, multimedia and performances, to expand the boundaries of art.

Imagine that you could meet any artist of the past, who would he be and what would you ask him?

- Probably, it would be Salvador Dali. I am amazed by the versatility of his talent, his unique energy and passion for creativity. After all, he was not only a painter, but a talented designer as well and also worked in other genres of art, including sculpture, theater, photography and even cinema. I would ask him where he found the energy and inspiration to combine different forms of art in his work.

What opportunities do you think art opens up for talented people today?

- Art allows you to express your thoughts, feelings and ideas through various forms, whether it be painting, sculpture, music or others. And with the development of modern technologies, new opportunities for talented people have appeared. With the help of social media and the Internet, it is now easy for creative people to present their paintings to a wide audience.

It's always interesting what impresses creative people. What are your favorite art-related books or films?

- One of my favorite books related to art that I often re-read is "Korovin. Memories". This is a book of his memoirs that covers childhood, pre-revolutionary life in Russia, portraits of mentors and friends, famous memoirs about Chaliapin, travel notes and selected stories. Of my favorite films, I can single out two - "Exit through the souvenir shop" and "Masterpiece".

Vlad, tell us please, what kind of new exhibition do you have in mind?

- I have conceived this exhibition as an opportunity to present my best art works created during the year, to share my creative vision of the world around. I hope that my paintings will become a source of inspiration and joy for visitors to the exhibition, allowing them to slow down, to enjoy the beauty of the world around them and the opportunity to pay more attention to the details and emotions that surround them in everyday life.

Will the exposition be renewed during summer, as before?

- Yes, sure. I have several paintings in my studio that I am still working on and I hope to show them at the exhibition as well.

Last summer, you completed one of the paintings literally near the Cultural Centre and it took a central place in the hall. Will we repeat something similar this time, or maybe you have prepared some other surprise for the guests of your exhibition?

- Maybe. But it will be a surprise!

And how often will visitors to the exhibition hall be able to meet and talk to you?

- I will try to be available at the exhibition as often as possible to meet and talk to visitors. And of course, everyone is welcome at the opening!
