Competitions in Dubna: emotions and achievements

On 1 – 2 August, the 27th Tennis Tournament dedicated to the physicists, the Corresponding Members of the USSR Academy of Sciences Boris and Venedikt Dzhelepovs was held on the courts of the JINR Sports Club.

The competition was opened by the organizer and Director of the Tournament Igor Dzhelepov, Vice‑Director of the institute Elena Kolganova, DLNP Director Evgeny Yakushev, Head of the SIM Office Andrey Tamonov and Director of the Sports Complex Vladimir Lomakin. The participants were welcomed by the winner of the 26th Tournament Lieutenant General Dmitry Faddeev and the winner of the first tournament Lieutenant General Gennady Dyumin. This year, the tournament was held in four categories and brought together a record number of tennis players.

Tournament winners:

  • Men's doubles: Dmitry Faddeev/Oleg Vasiliev; Nikolay Aksenov (FLNR)/Sergey Fateev (DLNP); Mikhail Gorobinsky/Alexander Gorobinsky;
  • Mixed: Andrey Kolesnikov/Anfisa Pulova; Sergey Zlotnikov/Taisiya Zlotnikova; Mikhail Anosov/Ekaterina Samsonova;
  • Women's doubles: Amira Travina (SIM Office)/Yulia Zaitseva; Taisiya Zlotnikova/Olga Dunina; Maria Parkhomenko/Elizaveta Vozhova;
  • Among children: Nina Shirkova/Alexander Shuvatov; Alena Volkova/Makar Starchenko; Emil Meshchersky/Gleb Starchenko.
