About what the newspaper wrote that day 30 years agoNo. 17 (3306) 30 April, 1996 In Moscow, at the meeting of the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Russian Federation, a Diploma of a foreign member was awarded to Director of LCTA Professor Rudolf Pose. The Diploma was presented by the President of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Academician O. L. Kuznetsov, highlighting R. Pose's significant contribution to science and the strengthening of international scientific relationships. *** A working meeting "Theoretical and experimental investigations of the accelerator-driven technique of obtaining energy and transmutation of radioactive waste" was held at LCTA. The meeting was attended by about 30 leading specialists of DLNP, LHEP, FLNP, LCTA and the representatives of cooperating organizations Professor G. A. Kiselev (ITEP, Moscow), Professor Z. Strugalski (IAE, Sverk, Poland). The meeting was opened by JINR Vice Director A.N. Sisakyan. A report on the research carried out in the laboratories of the Institute was made by: B. A. Kulakov, D. Chultem, I. A. Shelaev (LHEP), A. A. Glazov (DLNP), Yu. P. Popov (FLNP), V. S. Barashenkov (LCTA). It was stated that experimental and theoretical investigations of the accelerator-driven process have been carried out at JINR since the early 1960s. There are a number of pioneer publications by JINR staff on this issue. Nevertheless, there are still a number of problems, including fundamental ones, that should be met before it will be possible to start designing an experimental electronuclear plant. *** Recently, Cairo has hosted the first Russian-Egyptian School on cyclotrons and their use. The basis for organizing such a meeting was the protocol on cooperation between JINR and the Egyptian Atomic Energy Committee. The Russian delegation that has arrived from Dubna was headed by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences A. Yu. Didyk. R. Ts. Oganessian, V. B. Kutner, B. N. Gikal, A. G. Molokanov, S. V. Shishkin, M. A. Adawi took part in the work of the School. *** "JINR has played a key role in the development of Bulgarian physics and the development of a new technical culture of the Bulgarian nation. For Bulgaria, taking its first steps in modern physics, Dubna was an excellent place where Bulgarian physics could draw knowledge and experience from this spring and at the same time, contribute to the development of nuclear physics and technology. Almost all of our scientists working in nuclear physics have gone through Dubna School." From congratulations of Professor Todor Ruskov 63 years agoNo. 52 (780) 30 April, 1963 Senior engineers Slovak Joseph Manza and Boris Zelenov work together in LHEP. They develop an electronic experimental facility for physicists.

Shustin "Scientists, engineers, workers, technicians and laboratory assistants of DLNP celebrate the bright holiday of May Day with labor successes. The Great Lenin Prize and the papers of Head of the scientific group of the Laboratory, the Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Professor B. M. Pontecorvo, dedicated to theoretical and experimental investigations in the field of weak interactions and neutrino physics are of particular interest. Among the papers of scientific youth that I would like to highlight on May Day, I will name the investigations of R. Ya. Zulkarneev and I. N. Silin on the phase analysis of a large experimental material accumulated in the proton-proton scattering laboratory at an energy of 660 MeV. These papers were pioneering for the field of energies, where there is great meson production and gave a revolutionary impetus for the deployment of new phenomenological research in this field..." From an article of DLNP Director V.P. Dzhelepov *** «Four months of the struggle of the LHEP staff for the fulfillment of serious obligations adopted for 1963 have expired. The staff happily meets the bright spring holiday - May Day. Obligations are fulfilled successfully. The efforts of the employees of the operational departments provided 1150 hours of accelerator operation for experimental and methodological research. The average intensity increased by one and a half times due to an increase in the frequency of cycles. Such operation of the accelerator allowed confidently fulfilling our obligation to recruit experimental material in the neutron beamline...," L. Belyaev and O. Radin said. *** In mid-May, on 5 Michurin Street, a Club of a pioneer and a schoolboy will open. The premises have already been equipped and repaired by the workers of the Housing and Utilities Division, the Club's Council has been elected that includes the teachers of Schools No. 4, 8, parents, employees of the Cultural Centre. An enthusiast, one of the initiators of the establishment of this Club, pensioner Viktor Vinogradov was elected Chairman. The Club will have a children's lecture hall, sectors - cultural, sports, excursion and tourist. The employees of the Cultural Centre pledged to carry out circle work with the Club members on a voluntary basis. Another children’s club will soon light a red star.
