Exchange of experience in creating educational content

On 15 April, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research hosted the International Educational Seminar "Scientific Russia through the eyes of young people from abroad: popularization of Russian science through digital media".

In Dubna, students and young scientists from 24 countries of the world were able to share with each other the unique experience of developing popular science and educational content for social networks and other media platforms. The event was organized by the Analytical Centre of ICISTE together with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and JINR with the support of the A.M. Gorchakov Foundation.

The seminar was attended by more than 30 young specialists from Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the CIS. Currently, they study or carry out their scientific activities at universities and organizations on Russian territory.

The programme of the event was focused on the development of advanced tools and formats for popularizing scientific knowledge in the digital environment. During the seminar, the participants gained practical skills in creating content about scientific achievements and technological developments. The format of an open dialogue allowed young specialists to work on their own media projects, to exchange experience and to establish new professional contacts for future cooperation.

An essential strategic task of the seminar is to develop scientific communication skills among students. It is assumed that participants will be able to put the acquired competencies into practice by creating author's content about scientific projects and research infrastructure of the Russian Federation in their native languages. The publication of these materials on local media platforms and social networks will not only expand the understanding of the international audience about the scientific and technological potential of Russia, but will also contribute to the promotion of science in the global information space.

The participants highly appreciated the level of organization of the seminar, emphasizing that this event was a major stage in their professional and creative development.
