Jubilees

And time does not rule over her...

On 2 March, the anniversary seminar of Tatyana Alexandrovna STRIZH was held in the MLIT Conference hall. All generations of employees, Heads of Laboratories and Departments of the Institute, the representatives of partner IT companies gathered to congratulate MLIT Deputy Scientific Leader, the colleagues from St. Petersburg made online congratulations.

"Tatyana Aleksandrovna is the person that of course, has left a mark on the life of each of those gathered here," MLIT Director Sergey Shmatov opened the seminar and was the first to congratulate the hero of the day. "She is distinguished by an exceptional friendly attitude towards all members of the staff, whom she perceives as members of her family. She participates in matters not necessarily related to scientific activity and is always right. Thank you so much for having you! Health, new successes and energy to do what you know how and love to do. I can't imagine this laboratory without you."

VBLHEP Acting Director Andrey Butenko learnt about the world of computer science, about LCTA and JINR as a schoolchild, "Here, at the BESM-6, Tatyana Alexandrovna met us. She instructed everyone on the right path and as a result, we came to work; some - in MLIT, some - in other laboratories, some work in friendly institutes and some went into lyrics. Thank you on behalf of my generation and other generations for what you do!"

Director of the UC Dmitry Kamanin recalled that T.A.Strizh for many years has united work in the Laboratory with the activities of Deputy Director of the UC for research, organizing the work of the Centre and lecturing.

In his report "Honor traditions and move forward", MLIT Scientific Leader Vladimir Korenkov outlined the work biography of the hero of the day, dividing it into five stages. It began in 1973 at DLNP after having graduated from the Physics Department and graduate school of Moscow State University at the Department of B.M.Pontecorvo. The first investigation was carried out in the field of information processing in nuclear physics and high energy physics. Later, in the Sector of V.G.Ivanov at LCTA, T.A.Strizh began developing packages of data processing programmes from film detectors. The second stage started in 1983, when she began working in the Sector of I.V.Puzynin in a project on numerical solutions of the quantum-mechanical three-body problem, its application to the problem of muon catalysis and other nonlinear models of theory of physics. In 1989, Tatyana Alexandrovna successfully defended her thesis. In 1996, she became the Scientific Secretary of the Laboratory, it was then that the third stage began. In this position, she successfully worked for 18 years. These years became for LCTA-LIT a period of new projects for the development of networks and communications, collective computing infrastructure, as V.V.Korenkov emphasized. The Laboratory was faced with the task of finding its own path, the area of key development. At the same time, T.A.Strizh, in tandem with S.P.Ivanova, was actively engaged in the establishment of the UC.

Also, T.A.Strizh was deeply involved in the development of network infrastructure. Within the framework of the interdepartmental target programme, the Moscow-Dubna-JINR communication channel was developed. No less important and successful was the BAFIZ project to unite all Russian nuclear centres into a single environment. Next began the era of high-performance and distributed computing, computing farms, the development of a supercomputer, the development of JINR computer infrastructure. "We have become the core of the Joint Institute," Vladimir Vasilievich summed up this period.

The fourth stage started in 2003, when the grid technologies that arose at that time fell into the field of interests of Tatyana Alexandrovna. Participation in the WLCG project (grid for LHC) was extremely important. During these years, she actively participated in the European project EGEE (Enabling Grids for E-sciencE), the development of the Russian Data Intensive Grid (RDIG), several projects of the Federal Agency for Science and Innovation - to develop and establish a Tier-2 centre, a national nanotechnology network, projects included in the Federal target programme of the Ministry of Education and Science. At the same time, the traditional Conference "Distributed computing and grid technologies in science and education" was born that in addition to numerous participants, was attended by ministers and prime ministers of Russia. Tatyana Alexandrovna not only organized grid conferences, but also made reports at them. She actively participated with the MLIT team and in EGEE conferences held in Europe until 2007.

Tatyana Alexandrovna began the next stage as Deputy Director of the Laboratory for research. And for MLIT, it was marked by a very important event - the establishment of a Tier-1 data centre for the CMS experiment at LHC in 2015. At the same time, development of a model of a distributed shared system for accumulating, transmitting and processing data of the NICA Accelerator Complex started, a very important project of the Govorun supercomputer was implemented and MICC was organized. "There is no other multifunctional information and computing complex like ours anywhere in the world," V.V. Korenkov emphasized. "There are supercomputer centres, there are Tier-1 centres, there are cloud computing centres, that is, centres of one infrastructure. And such as in our Institute of multi-type architecture, meeting major and diverse problems not only of high energy physics, but also of theoretical physics, nuclear medicine, nuclear reactions, radiobiology, is nowhere to be found. We were able to establish our computing centre so that the user did not think about where to run the task and how to store the data."

T.A.Strizh plays a key role in organizing many conferences that have been held for many years in MLIT, as well as those held today. She participates in the sessions of Scientific Councils, CP and in the meetings of PAC, in the preparation of books and albums dedicated to the anniversaries of the founders of the Laboratory M.G.Meshcheryakov and N.N.Govorun. Currently, the album is prepared on the history of the Laboratory and the main one that leads this project in MLIT is Tatyana Alexandrovna.

T.A.Strizh has more than 140 publications. She has been awarded numerous insignia, thanks and medals, including the Medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree.

"Tatyana Alexandrovna is the soul of our Laboratory. Whatever she has done over the past 30 years for MLIT is a feat!" V.V.Korenkov concluded his speech. "It would not have happened if all of you had not been with me," followed the response of the hero of the occasion.

The leading researcher at MLIT Gennady Ososkov congratulated the hero of the day with a poem of his own composition. He remembered that he had met Tatyana Alexandrovna in absentia in 1970, having read a book she had written with L.M.Soroko at DLNP. The book for Gennady Alekseevich turned out to be very important. They later met in person. "Tanya played an important role in my life. She is young and it attracts her the most," G.A.Ososkov said.

Chair of JINR STC Elena Kolganova, congratulating Tatyana Alexandrovna, emphasized that the latter can always rely on her.

JINR Vice Director Vladimir Kekelidze emphasized the knowledge, energy and enthusiasm of the hero of the day, testifying to her enormous potential. "MLIT is a uniting component and cornerstone of our Institute, which no problem can be met without. All these equipment and people are very difficult to organize but when there are people like Tatyana Alexandrovna in our team, all tasks are solvable. MLIT is our leader. Thank you for everything!" he said.

JINR Vice-Director Latchesar Kostov spoke about the importance of meetings with people like Tatyana Alexandrovna that radiates kindness, wisdom and enthusiasm.

"Thank you so much for paying a lot of attention to me almost 20 years ago when I became Scientific Secretary of FLNP, without knowing anything about this work," Head of International Cooperation Department Otilia Culicov said in her congratulations. "It allowed me to develop and increase."

JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov remembered with warmth the years spent at the UC and communication with T.A.Strizh and S.P.Ivanova, 'I'm eternally grateful to you for being here, for working with us for years. You are not just a good, but a very good person!" he congratulated Tatyana Alexandrovna.

HRRMD Head Alexander Verkheev also having met T.A.Strizh at the UC, warmly congratulated her on her anniversary.

Tatyana Aleksandrovna focused on her scientific autobiography, making a report "30 years later". It all began with science and excellent colleagues - spectral analysis, spectral transformations and L.M.Soroko, mu-catalysis and I.V.Puzynin, N.N.Govorun employed her to work at LCTA. "And suddenly in 1996, they say to me, "You will be a scientific secretary!" For four years, I honestly tried to unite this work with science but life went forward, more and more time and effort were required of us," she recalled, talking about the first experience of compiling albums, preparing books, organizing conferences. I also remembered the "hardware" - the development of the network infrastructure of the Institute in the early 2000s, updating the computing power of LIT. Tatyana Aleksandrovna recalled the very good, in her opinion, practice of publishing in paper form annual and two-year reports of laboratories, which employees have always prepared good articles on their papers for. "It seems to me very good that we are returning to the publication of the papers of conferences or scientific collections in a paper version that can be leafed through," she said. Her love for books and the great people of the laboratory coincided and as a result, the Laboratory gained several editions of albums dedicated to M.G.Meshcheryakov and N.N.Govorun. Tatyana Aleksandrovna is glad that the memory of these great scientists is captured in the names of the city streets, the monument and - "supercomputers love names, so ours is named "Govorun" and the laboratory is named after M.G.Meshcheryakov". Another album, the publication of which she is looking forward to, will be ready for the anniversary of her native laboratory. "Thank you all for your help and good wishes!" Tatyana Alexandrovna finished her speech.

Head of Department at VBLHEP Alexander Malakhov was familiar with the hero of the day at different stages of her life, they worked together at the UC, the MIREA branch, the Dubna University and as Alexander Ivanovich emphasized, T.A.Strizh has always met all issues quickly and well. And since they live in the neighborhood, they see each other often and "meeting and communicating with her every morning is a pleasure".

JINR Chief Scientific Secretary Sergey Nedelko also stated that it is always pleasant to talk to Tatyana Alexandrovna, she is a wise person. And also, he emphasized, she knows how to do great things without making a fuss of it. And afterwards, things live on for a long time.

A software engineer at MLIT Alla Zaikina began working in the laboratory with Tatyana Alexandrovna in 1973 and has been friends with her since then. "Working with Tanya is always comfortable, although she was demanding of herself and us," Alla Grigorievna recalled. "When I told R. Pose that he was lucky with such a scientific secretary of the laboratory, he replied, "I was unlucky and I figured her out myself. She was the soul of our team, we cheerfully celebrated all birthdays and holidays."

The leading researcher at BLTP Vladimir Melezhik highlighted such qualities of the hero of the day as reliability and the ability to instantly grasp all the novelties.

The hero of the day was also congratulated by the colleagues in the laboratory and on joint projects - G.Adam (MLIT), Head of SIM Office A.V.Tamonov, V.I.Korobov (BLTP), G.A.Krasov (Platformics LLC), A.A.Moskovsky (RSK group of companies), colleagues from St. Petersburg - A.V.Bogdanov, A.K.Kiryanov, N.L.Shchegoleva. And the most active part of the youth of the Laboratory having performed verses of their own composition on the anniversary of V.V.Korenkov, prepared a funny music video produced by MLIT Films for Tatyana Alexandrovna. I used a line from their song for the title.
