Between ice and a distant quasar. About how a telescope is constructed at the bottom of Lake Baikal

A book-photo album "Between ice and a distant quasar. About how a telescope is constructed at the bottom of Lake Baikal" has been published in the publishing house RMP dedicated to the innovative Baikal-GVD research facility.

A man seeks to know the world around him. It's always been that way. The inquisitive mind of a scientist constantly looks for ways to reveal the secrets of nature. Many believe that a man can solve them and some are convinced that a man should.

The neutrino telescope on Lake Baikal is the protagonist of the photo album that is now open to you, it is a good example of such faith and such conviction. The faith and convictions of an outstanding person, a person able to see through time and space is Grigory Domogatsky. Constructing a neutrino telescope was his life's work.

The photo album presents shots of recent years. The authors Bair Shaibonov and Evgeny Bondarev are regular participants in winter expeditions for the construction of a neutrino telescope. Compiled by: editor Natalya Mazarskaya, designer Elena Belolaptikova, scientific consultants Igor Belolaptikov and Bair Shaibonov.

You can learn more about the album in the JINR Science and Technology Library.
