In the wake of the departed
Hamlet Khodzhibagiyan started working at JINR in 1973 after having graduated from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. For more than half a century of work, he has gone from engineer to deputy director for research of the largest division at the Institute - the Laboratory of High Energy Physics, made a significant and defining contribution to the development of the concept of the Nuclotron superconducting magnetic system. H.G.Khodzhibagiyan ensured the preparation of accelerator systems for sessions and efficient operation in them, headed the development of prototypes and full-sized superconducting magnets for the booster and collider of the NICA project, was the supervisor of work on developing a highly technological base for assembling and testing magnets of the NICA and FAIR projects. Hamlet Khodzhibagiyan is the author of about 200 scientific papers and inventions, a winner of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, a winner of the National Challenge Prize. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree, Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Hamlet Georgievich was awarded the Distinction "For contribution to the development of the nuclear industry", II degree, Gratitude from Rosatom, Gratitude from the Governor of the Moscow Region, the Badge "For Merit to the Moscow Region", III degree. He was awarded the honorary titles Honored Scientist of the Moscow Region, Veteran of Nuclear Energy and Industry, Honorary JINR Employee. Being a professional of the highest level, despite the most serious illness, he continued to work until the last days. Hamlet Georgievich Khodzhibagiyan's life in science is an example of how everyone should live and work. JINR and VBLHEP Directorates, the staff of the Laboratory express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Hamlet Khodzhibagiyan. The bright memory of a wonderful person and a real scientist will forever be with us.
