Summer Project School at the Lyceum named after V.G.Kadyshevsky
On 9 - 20 June, together with the JINR University Centre, the Lyceum is holding a summer school for the students that have graduated from grades 7 and 8. The participants will have a rich programme: project work, lectures from JINR employees, master classes, excursions and sports games.
A series of popular science lectures and master classes was opened by a researcher at the Laboratory of Radiation Biology Olga Vinogradova with a lecture "How radiation helps to defeat cancer" and by an electronics engineer of the 2nd category at the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems Alexey Chetverikov that held a master class "Observation of the solar chromosphere through a telescope".
No tedious school lessons and cramming! Summer school is a format of projects when students immediately apply the knowledge gained in practice. Participants implement five projects:
- "FM evolution" - theoretical classes in physics and mathematics, as well as classes on meeting experimental and pseudo-experimental tasks, implementation of research using a digital laboratory;
- "Amphibious" - designing a 3D prototype of an amphibious car;
- "Field workshop on Geography" - a programme for studying field research techniques;
- "Mathematics with Turtle" - creating various patterns using the Pyhton Turtle library;
- "Oxygen with character" - a programme for the investigation of reactive oxygen species.
