Ringing of medals, glitter of awards

The XXVI Sports Games dedicated to the 69th anniversary of JINR were held this year in nine sports out of ten. Unfortunately, the weather conditions did not allow us to hold skiing competitions but we will definitely hold them next season.

In February-March, group stage matches in volleyball and football were held. Traditionally, on the Institute's birthday, we held the final games in the JINR Sports Club.

Six teams participated in the volleyball tournament: PCDD, FLNP, "Management", "Science", "Special Branch No. 18" and "Veterans". The teams "Management" and "Special Department No.18" reached the finals and in the match for the third place, the FLNP team met with the team "Veterans". As a result, the first place was taken by the team "Management", the second - by "Special Department №18" and the 3rd - by FLNP. Denis Zaitsev, Evgeny Mikhailov, Sergey Andronov, Nikita Kurylev and Danila Kazakov won the best player awards in different categories of the tournament.

Five teams took part in this year's football competition and after the round-robin games, they played semifinals. As a result, in the match for the title of the absolute winner met CED and FLNP, where CED was stronger and the FLNP team beat the VBLHEP team in the match for the third place. The best players of the tournament were Sergey Levshenkov, Vitaly Skuratov, Ivan Dotsenko and Pavel Sinyugin.

Six teams took part in the table tennis tournament: VBLHEP, FLNR, FLNP, "China", UCIP and UC. Among the teams the first place was taken by FLNR, the second - by VBLHEP and the third place - by FLNP. In the individual category, Inna Tikhomirova and Evgeny Levin took gold, Lyudmila Ilyina and Maxim Podlesnyy took silver and Alexandra Ivanova and Dmitry Medvedev took bronze.

On 22 March, 36 adults and three children took part in archery competitions in the shooting range of the Stadium "Nauka". Winners and prize-winners among the teams were: the first place went to FLNR (210 points), the second - to RCS (192), the third - to DLNP (189). In the individual competition, gold was won by Anna Kuzmenko and Artem Bystryakov, silver - by Alena Kogoutova and Nurzada Saktaganova and bronze - by Tatiana Logozina and Andrey Kazakov.

Among children, the first place was taken by Nandin Badmaarag, the second - by Akhmad Akhmadov, the third place - by Arina Kozlova.

Competitions on kettlebell lifting were held in three tournament days. During the whole period of the tournament, six teams took part in them: VBLHEP, LRB and FLNR, "University", "Kettlebell Lifting Academy" (Moscow) and the team of the city of Aprelevka, Moscow region. 23 athletes participated in the competition.

According to the results of the tournament, the first place among the teams of the Institute was taken by VBLHEP (66 points), the second place was taken by LRB (65) and the third place was taken by FLNR (60). In the team standings, the three strongest teams were "University", VBLHEP and LRB.

A record number of employees participated in the rifle shooting competition. For the first time in the history of JINR competitions, a family scoring was introduced, in which 35 family teams took part. Nineteen family teams participated from divisions and communities and 25 boys and nine girls competed among the children of employees.

The results of the air rifle shooting competition in the team competition are the following: the first place - "Russia", the second place - "Cryo-1", the third place went to the team "Economists and not only". In the family and individual competitions, the fight was for every point and as a result, several participants had equal results. The first place went to the Dolovov family, the second place - to the Zhironkins and Korneichuk and the third place - to the Sokolovs, Seleverstovs and Svintsitsitskiy-Smirnovs.

In the individual event, gold went to Andrey Churakov and Oksana Dolovova, silver - to Alexey Livanov, Tatiana Zhironkina and Nadezhda Sokolova, bronze - to Kahramon Mamatkulov, Stepan Shirkov, Natalia Voronova and Kira Shubina. Among children, Vasily Yakovlev and Dinara Mamatkulova took the first place, Alexander Korneichuk and Zlata Chepigina took the second place and Lev Peshkov and Asmar Faig kyzy Akhmadova took the third place.

The basketball tournament was dynamic and interesting, in which nine teams won prizes in the categories: JINR and "University". Winners and prize-winners among the JINR teams: VBLHEP, "Element 114" and MLIT. Winners and prize winners among the University teams: "Snow White and the Three Dwarfs", "Swaga Tim" and "Venom".

On 23 March, eight teams of the Institute's employees and their family members took part in the chess competition at the Stadium "Nauka". The results of the chess tournament among the teams: the first place went to MLIT, the second - to NICA and the third - to VBLHEP+DLNP. In the individual category, the first were Evgeny Alexandrov and Vladimir Alexandrov, the second were Alexander Makarov and Iroda Dushanova, the third place went to Rumen Guscherski and Nikolay Vergel.

The darts tournament was attended by 40 people (12 teams and four personally): CED, "Kazakhstan-1", "Kazakhstan-2", "Kazakhstan-3", "Azerbaijan", PCDD, CE Office, VBLHEP, DRS, FLNP, RSU and FLNP-2. The gold went to the CED team, silver went to VBLHEP and bronze - to the "Kazakhstan-1" team. In the individual competition, Botagoz Tajmakhanbet and Yury Savin were the best, the second - Madina Sabirzhan and Alexander Soloviev, the third - Dimeli Yeleukulova and Evgeny Levin.

It is impossible to hold sports games without a team of referees. We would like to thank Nikolay Tamberg, Oksana Koval, Alexey Kudashkin, Yulia Parfenova, Inna Tikhomirova, Evgeny Alexandrov, Mikhail Matveev and Eric Dushanov for their help in organizing the games.
