Events Visit of the delegation of Bulgaria to JINROn 7-8 April, the representatives of the Republic of Bulgaria, with the members of the National Assembly Yordan Todorov and Angel Yanchev visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.The delegates visited JINR laboratories, where they learnt about the facilities of the large scientific infrastructure and research projects of the Institute. On the first day, the guests visited the site of the NICA Accelerator Complex and the interactive exhibition "JINR basic facilities" in the Cultural Centre "Mir". In addition, a meeting with the representatives of the national group of the Republic of Bulgaria in JINR was organized. On 8 April, the delegation learnt about the Institute's research infrastructure by visiting five more laboratories. Yordan Todorov and Angel Yanchev visited the hall of the DC-280 cyclotron at the Superheavy Element Factory and the Centre for Applied Physics of FLNR. In the Laboratory of Information Technologies, they visited the JINR Multifunctional Information and Computing Complex and the hall of the supercomputer "Govorun". The guests also learnt thoroughly about the infrastructure and research programmes of DLNP, FLNP and LRB. The final point of the programme was the meeting with the representatives of JINR Directorate. The Parties emphasized the fundamental significance of multilateral cooperation of the JINR Member States for the national scientific and technological development of these countries and strengthening of international partnership in science and technology, for sustainable social and economic development, in accordance with the principles of the Sofia Declaration on the Value of International Integration in Science and Technology, adopted by the Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States at the session in Sofia in November, 2021. JINR Vice-Director Latchesar Kostov, emphasizing the historical significance of cooperation, highlighted: "We are proud that 70 years ago, the Republic of Bulgaria became one of the co-founders of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. This decision allowed Bulgaria to become a part of one of the largest international scientific projects of the XX century that still unites scientists from all over the world today".
