Grigory Trubnikov -
Honorary Professor of Moscow State University

On 25 January, in the Main Building of M.V.Lomonosov Moscow State University, within the framework of the ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 269th anniversary of the university, Diploma of Honorary title to JINR Director Academician Grigory Trubnikov was awarded by the Rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy.

The title of Honorary Professor of Moscow State University was awarded to Grigory Trubnikov for his great contribution to the development of nuclear physics and elementary particle physics and for many years of fruitful cooperation with Moscow State University.

"Dubna is a centre of nuclear physics and related sciences and we are united by a long-standing strategic partnership," MSU Rector Viktor Sadovnichy noted at the solemn ceremony. He emphasized that cooperation between the Joint Institute and Moscow State University has been going on since 1961. In 2022, a decision was made to develop a branch of Moscow State University in Dubna and extensive work is underway to fully open it. In November 2023, a joint meeting of the Scientific Council of MSU - JINR was also held, at which an agreement on cooperation between scientific organizations was signed.

JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov expressed gratitude to the Rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy and members of the MSU Scientific Council: "It is a great honor for me to stand on this stage today, I perceive this title as a high evaluation of the cooperation and true scientific friendship between MSU and JINR." He also thanked the teaching staff of MSU - JINR professors: "The founders of Dubna are the professors of Moscow State University. I want to express my deep gratitude to the university, my teachers, my Institute, for the fact that since 1996 I have found myself in particle physics.

Today, I work in a huge team of five thousand people on unique, grandiose projects together with Moscow State University."

Former Head of the University of Havana Gustavo Jose Cobreiro Suarez was also awarded the title of Honorary Professor at Moscow State University.
