AYSS: at the reporting seminar

On 29 December, the results of 2022 and the plans for 2023 were discussed by young staff members of the Joint Institute at the reporting seminar of the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR. JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov noted that today, AYSS is much more active and enthusiastic in its activities. He congratulated the young employees on the coming New Year and wished them success.

In 2022, a junior researcher of DLNP Vladislav Rozhkov was elected Chairman of AYSS. Summing up the results of 2022, he noted: "We started to move away from the covid times and began to hold more meetings live, recall the previous formats and events. There are more active participants. And it is, in particular, due to the fact that we started to fight against the "information hunger" through social networks and email newsletters. We managed to try out new formats - the Cinema Club, seminars at the Scientists' Club ... Next year we plan to implement several more new formats and remember such forgotten ones as Science Slam.

Today, the Association has got more than 1000 active employees up to 36 years old. In the outgoing year, AYSS held not only its traditional events, such as Lipnya School, conferences in JINR, Alushta and other ones, but also organized a number of new regular meetings.

Currently, the Association widely popularizes science. In 2022, the representatives of the Association participated in numerous Russian and international festivals, presented lectures and organized excursions to JINR. AYSS cooperates with youth councils of other organizations. Together with the Council of SINP MSU, the so-called "Subatomic Saturdays" have been organized. The German Club has started working, the English Club has continued its work. In 2023, it is planned to organize a Russian Club for non-native Russian employees.

To move between Laboratories and inside the sites, public bicycles have been purchased at FLNP with the support of AYSS. The JINR youth proposes to organize bicycle stations for their repair together with the Property Complex Development Department. At the initiative of AYSS, a pedestrian road will be constructed at the DLNP site.

At the meeting, the members of AYSS that defended their Ph.D. dissertations this year received congratulations. The winners of the Youth JINR Prizes and AYSS grantees were announced.
