12. 120 years since the birth of Academician Igor Vasilievich Kurchatov (1903-1960), founder of Russian nuclear science and technology.

13. 120 years since the birth of Academician Anatoly Petrovich Aleksandrov (1903-1994), President of the USSR Academy of Sciences from 1975 to 1986, three times Hero of Socialist Labor, an outstanding scientist and statesman.

16-17. 133rd session of the JINR Scientific Council.

29. In 2008, the JINR Prize named after the prominent physicist and well-known science popularizer Ya.A.Smorodinsky, established by JINR to encourage scientists and journalists for significant achievements in the popularization of science, was awarded to V.S.Gubarev, a Soviet and Russian writer, playwright and journalist.

2. 110 years since the birth of Academician Georgy Nikolaevich Flerov (1913-1990), Hero of Socialist Labor, founder of the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions of JINR that today is named after him.

3. Republic of Bulgaria. Day of the Liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman yoke.

12. 110 years since the birth of Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Sciences Venedikt Petrovich Dzhelepov (1913-1999), an outstanding Russian scientist and organizer of science, the first Director of the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems of JINR that today is named after him.

12. 160 years since the birth of V.I.Vernadsky (1863-1945), Russian thinker, naturalist.

14. In 1993, the new U-400M cyclotron was put into operation and the first experiments were carried out at the FOBOS facility at the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions of JINR.

17. In 1998, the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences decided to establish the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences named after Academician Nikolay Nikolaevich Bogolyubov, an outstanding physicist, mathematician and mechanic of our time, an honorary citizen of Dubna.

23. In 1953, the Technical Directorate for Construction-533 (TDC-533), a special organization tasked with heading the construction of the synchrophasotron was established. This date became the birthday of the JINR High Energy Laboratory (today, Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics).

27. In 1958, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Dag Hammarskj?ld, visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

APRIL

11. In 1958, a delegation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) headed by Director General William Sterling Cole visited JINR.

23. In 1993, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the Chinese Nuclear Society that marked the beginning of the restoration of scientific ties between Chinese scientists and colleagues working at JINR.

MAY

8. 80 years since the birth of Professor Elias Entralgo (1943-2003), a prominent Cuban scientist and organizer of science, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Vice-Director of JINR (1977-1982).

25. 100 years since the birth of the Mongolian scientist Academician Namsarai Sodnom (1923-2002), organizer of education and science, Vice-Director of JINR (1967-1973), President of the Academy of Sciences of the MPR (1987-1991), Plenipotentiary representative of the Mongolian People's Republic at JINR (1988-1991), member of the JINR Scientific Council (1956-1991).

1. 95 years since the birth of Alesandru Mihul (1928-2015), prominent Romanian physicist, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Vice-Director of JINR (1957-1962 and 1970-1975).

12. Russian Federation. Russia Day.

19. 400 years since the birth of Blaise Pascal (1623-1662), French mathematician, physicist and philosopher.

21. In 1967, the JINR SPA & Resort Hotel "Dubna" was opened in Alushta.

30. In 1993, the theses of the first 36 JINR UC graduates, students of Moscow State University, MEPhI and MIPT, were defended.

JULY

3. Republic of Belarus. Independence Day.

3-7. 10th International Conference "Distributed Computing and Grid-Technologies in Science and Education".

11. Mongolia. Naadam holiday coinciding with the anniversary of the People's Revolution of 1921.

21. 95 years since the birth of Nguyen Van Hieu (1938-2022), a prominent Vietnamese physicist, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Laureate of the Lenin Prize of the USSR, for a number of years a Member of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries and the Scientific Council of JINR.

AUGUST

22. 110 years since the birth of Bruno Maksimovich Pontecorvo (1913-1993), an outstanding Italian and Russian physicist, one of the founders of Neutrino Physics at JINR and in the world.

SEPTEMBER

134th session of the JINR Scientific Council

2. In 1983, on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR, a large group of Heads of diplomatic missions of 55 countries accredited in the Soviet Union visited JINR.

7-12. Dubna hosted the largest scientific Forum, the XVII International Conference on High Energy Accelerators (NEACC-98) that brought together scientists and specialists from the world's leading laboratories.

18-23. XXV Baldin International Seminar on High Energy Physics Problems "Relativistic Nuclear Physics and Quantum Chromo dynamics".

21. Republic of Armenia. Independence Day.

23. In 1993, the representatives of the National Academies of Sciences from 15 countries of Europe and Asia established the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS) that closely cooperates with JINR.

OCTOBER

3. Federal Republic of Germany. Day of German Unity.

9-20. Conference "Molecular genetic research in radiobiology. To the 70th anniversary of the discovery of the DNA structure.

27. 100 years since the birth of Academician Spartak Timofeevich Belyaev (1923-2017), a Member of the JINR Scientific Council for many years.

15. 60 years since the establishment of the Institute for High Energy Physics in Protvino.

DECEMBER

1. Romania. National day.

4. In 2003, the Collegium of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan supported the proposal of JINR and INP of Kazakhstan to establish an international research and educational complex at the Gumilyov Eurasian National University on the basis of the heavy ion accelerator.

16. Republic of Kazakhstan. Independence Day.

18. In 1958, the Scientists' Club of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research was opened.
