Catalog and tour - continuing the conversation about art
The catalog, published by IMA-Press, unites photographs of more than 140 works of the exhibition - graphics, paintings, artifacts, kinetic objects - and archival materials. The book includes texts in Russian and English that emphasizes the international status of JINR and makes the materials of the exhibition available to a wide audience. The works are accompanied by descriptions and comments by Francisco Infante, allowing you to see behind the visual images the history of their creation and the author's artistic search.
A special place in the publication is occupied by texts that reveal the artist's work from different points of view. The catalog includes a study by the curator of the exhibition, art critic and art director of Veretyevo Irina Gorlova "Art as a continuous experiment", an article by Nicoletta Misler and John Ellis Boult "Space, movement, infinity: Francisco Infante - the energy of the atom", as well as a text by art critic and curator Alexander Petrovichev "Francisco Infante. Space of art as gaining meaning".
The catalog allows you to again go through the route of the exhibition, to stop at familiar works, to open them from a new side and to continue the conversation about the art of Francisco Infante outside the exhibition space.
"The catalog of the exhibition "ArteFacts of Francisco InFante", created by JINR together with the Art Estate "Veretyevo" is not just an opportunity to preserve the memory of this exposition. This is an independent art publication that contains reflections and different views on the work of Francisco Infante. After many years, it will remain evidence of this project," JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov said.
The presentation of the publication was held on 21 July at the Gallery of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The event was attended by Francisco Infante, the exhibition curator Irina Gorlova, JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov and the founder of the Art Estate “Veretyevo” Andrey Gnatyuk. As part of the creative meeting, the artist personally presented the catalog and conducted an author's tour of the exposition.
