To the JINR anniversary Science in a large family"70 years of friendship, mutual trust and scientific cooperation" - under this slogan, the JINR Museum of History of Science and Technology launched a series of events for the employees from JINR Member States, organized with the participation of the JINR Women's Committee. The first JINR National Communities Day was dedicated to Mongolia.
The programme of the festive evening united educational events and informal communication. JINR Mongolian employees, representatives of different laboratories, were invited with their families. The youngest participants were barely two years old. Many adults and children came to the evening in festive national costumes. It was gratifying to see friendly families with a large number of children that I want to believe, will continue the work of their parents and also choose a scientific path for themselves.
The evening opened with a lecture-acquaintance of the Museum staff about the international traditions of JINR and the contribution of Mongolian scientists to its scientific programme. The Joint Institute was able to create a unique environment in our city, both in its natural scientific achievements and in the mutual enrichment of national cultures. The Dubna environment has always been and will be international, in full accordance with the once proclaimed slogan "Science brings nations together". Mongolia has become a JINR Member State since its establishment, thus becoming one of the founding states. Over the 70-year history of JINR, hundreds of young Mongolian physicists have participated in scientific projects implemented by international staffs of the Joint Institute. Over time, these scientists have become professors, academicians, have headed scientific centres and the Academy of Sciences in their country. Today, they are interested in Dubna, as before, to be an excellent scientific school for the younger generation. The Museum staff introduced the guests to the exposition, told children and adults about the history of JINR, unique scientific projects that are currently implemented in laboratories. A huge impression, especially on children, was made by the physical experiments demonstrated in the "CLASS laboratory": spectacular experiments with a Tesla lightning generator, with liquid nitrogen and much more. And the evening ended with a tea party. At the festive table, the Mongolian employees shared their impressions, talked about themselves and thanked the organizers. And afterwards, they left reviews. A senior researcher at FLNP Davaasuren Sumkhuu said, "On 31 January, we, the representatives of the Mongolian community, working at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, spent a rich, memorable and exciting day with our families in the Museum. We learnt about the exhibits with great interest and pleasure, learned a lot about the history of JINR development and were able to realize the contribution of Mongolian scientists to the development of the Institute. Special thanks to Director of the Museum Anastasia Zlotnikova and the guide Kirill Kozubsky that enthusiastically and easily told about all the exhibits of the Museum, including interactive ones, which even the youngest guests were interested in. We also express our gratitude to Dmitry Dryablov, a researcher at VBLHEP that carried out fascinating experiments for children and the photographer Igor Lapenko that captured memorable moments of this day for us." FLNP researcher Altangerel Badmaarag said, "Visiting the JINR Museum of History of Science and Technology was a great opportunity not only to expand your knowledge, but also to understand the world of science in a more interesting way. Here you can learn about scientific achievements, historical exhibits, objects and equipment used by outstanding scientists. The models of experimental facilities made a special impression, clearly demonstrating theoretical knowledge with practical examples. Interactive exhibits help to understand that science is not only books and formulae, but also an integral part of everyday life. It was particularly exciting to do some of the experiments on your own. Here, children and adults can recharge with knowledge and inspiration. The visit here aroused a keen interest in science, made us think deeper about the relationship of things in the world around us. It was a valuable experience. Thank you so much for a beautifully organized day! Everything was very interesting and exciting. Our kids especially loved it, they were absolutely thrilled!" Tulgaa Turtuvshin, a researcher at VBLHEP said, "It was very pleasant to hear about the history of JINR and the contribution of Mongolian scientists to its development. The most interesting part of the event, of course, was the show of scientific experiments. It was very exciting and fun, especially for the kids. Thank you so much for inviting us and organizing such a wonderful event. Wish you the best". On behalf of the Museum, I would like to thank for the support of our undertakings Head of the National Group of Mongolia, the leading researcher of BLTP Ganbold Gurjav, as well as the senior researcher of FLNP Davaasuren Sumkhuu that has made a key contribution to coordinating the participation of families of Mongolian employees.
