Melody of victories captured in awards

From 30 April to 3 May, the Academic choir "Belcanto" of the Cultural Centre "Mir" and the Choir of Youth and Students led by the energetic and talented Elena Khritankova took part in the 2nd International Multigenre Competition of Stage Games "Lights of Dagestan" in the city of Derbent.

The jury of the International Competition appreciated the performances of the choirs, awarding:

• a gold medal for the first place and a diploma of winners of the II International Multigenre Competition of Stage Games "Lights of Dagestan" for a Russian folk song edited by L. Sivukhin "Oh, over the Volga";
• a gold medal for the first place and a diploma of winners for the song "How steamboats see off" by K. Vanshenkin, lyrics by A. Ostrovsky;
• a gold medal for the first place and a diploma of winners for a Russian folk song edited by O. Tokar, arranged by D. Minaeva "Oh, from evening".

The combined choir was awarded the Grand Prix in the nomination "Choral singing", the choir soloists Ekaterina Efremova and Ivan Titov that performed brilliantly in the nomination "Vocals", were also awarded gold medals and diplomas of the winners of the competition.

Chairman of the jury for vocal and instrumental performance was the conductor of the Dagestan State Opera and Ballet Theater, Professor of the Department of Musical Instruments and Solo Singing of the Institute of Culture and Arts of the Dagestan State Pedagogical University, Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan, the winner of the Highest Music Prize of the Caucasus "Golden Microphone", the winner of the Artiad of the Peoples of Russia N. V. Babichev.
