The JINR staff members that attended the meeting, commented on photographs from H.L.Vardenga's work period at VBLHEP, recognizing their younger colleagues. Regarding her father's work, Maria highlighted that together with E.O.Okonov, he had co-authored the book "The Universe of particles", the first popular science book on particle physics. It was followed by publications of poetry, translations and children's poems - a total of 17 books. The last, "The secret life of dogs" was published shortly before his death. "Working on it distracted him from his illness and he was delighted when it came out," Maria remarked.
