Young JINR scientists awarded Russian Government Prizes

On 2 December, the Russian Government Awards ceremony was held in Moscow. Senior researcher Mikhail Shandov and researcher Ilia Nikolaichuk, both employees of the JINR Laboratory of High Energy Physics, were awarded the Science and Technology Prize for Young Scientists.

The scientists were awarded for their work on correcting the leading magnetic field of the NICA Accelerator Complex Booster.

At the ceremony, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin awarded diplomas and medals to the winners. In his speech, he spoke about the megascience facilities under construction in the Russian Federation, including the deep underwater Baikal-GVD Neutrino Telescope and the NICA Complex, as well as separately highlighted the contributions of scientists from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
