At JINR Museum

In memory of the scientist and poet

On 2 December, the JINR Museum of History of Science and Technology hosted an evening dedicated to the literary work of RAS Academician Alexei N.Sissakian.

Actors from the Dubna theater "Kvadrat" presented a performance based on the memoirs, prose and poetry of Alexei Norairovich. The evening concluded with a screening of the film "Friendship. Creativity. Memory" (RAS-Video, 2009).

According to Deputy Director of Museum N.S.Kavalerova, this is the first time, the memorial evening was held as a theatrical performance. Director of the theater "Kvadrat" Yu.V.Kukarnikova immediately accepted the museum's offer, as she, like many Dubna residents, is drawn to Sissakian's poetry.

"I'll tell you, my daughter, my whole journey and you listen, Nastenka..." We heard a family story, a warm talk about his parents and childhood memories, all with touching details. Letters from student Alexei from the virgin lands were read (that along with poetry collections and archival materials, were on display in the evening's exhibition) and of course, his poems. Songs by Bulat Okudzhava and Viktor Berkovsky, performed with guitar, resonated with the evening's topic and mood. The theater actors and the director approached the evening's concept with great warmth and their informal approach was felt and appreciated by the audience. Among the poems by Alexei Norairovich read was this line: "...the most important of all beginnings are friends, creativity and memory." His work will remain with us forever and his friends will keep alive the memory of Alexei Sissakian.
