Competition of the brave and the skilled

On 6-7 September, the Sailing Club "Atom" once again enlivened the waters of the Volga, hosting the 2025 JINR Sailing Cup in the classes "Luch", "Cadet" and "Optimist" at the picturesque JINR Yacht Club base.

Amid the waves and winds, 38 talented athletes from Dubna and Dolgoprudny gathered, ready to compete for the title of the best.

The JINR Sailing Cup was last held 35 years ago.

As a tribute to tradition, the names of this year's winners will be engraved on the Challenge Cup that is proudly kept within the walls of the JINR Yacht Club.

This competition marks the fourth in the busy 2025 season on the Volga and Ivankovskoe Reservoir and each participant demonstrated not only skill but also a true passion for sailing.

Competition winners are:

"Cadet": Kira Oreshnikova, Polina Zhdanova, Dmitry Volkov, Dmitry Fomin, Stanislava Trushkina, Polina Trushkina.

"Optimist", newcomers: Anastasia Nazarova, Lev Bondarev, Kira Ivankova.

"Optimist", experienced: Vasily Kudryashov, Lev Akhlyustin, Leya Ivankova.

"Luch", newcomers: Ivan Nikitsky, Maxim Kubarsky, Anna Sumbaeva.

"Luch", experienced: Alexey Novospassky, Timur Gridnev, Varvara Mostovaya.

Each of these young sailors proved that sailing is not just a competition, but a true force of nature, where every wind can be a friend and every wave - a challenge.
