We are one team in science and sports

Based on the results of 2024, JINR athletes took the first place in the city Spartakiad among amateur sports teams.

We have already reported on the excellent results of our athletes in the Spartakiad among city teams in cross-country skiing, volleyball, swimming and table tennis that was held from February to May. After the summer break, the competitions were again held. Today, we are publishing the results of the other competitions and also remind you of other mass sports events held in the past year.

On 4 September, the 6th stage of the City Spartakiad among amateur sports teams in cross-country running was held at the Yude-Kon Stadium. Our employees Aleksey Altynov (FLNP), Andrey Pluzhnikov (DLNP), Vladimir Morozov (VBLHEP), Ersultan Arynbek (FLNP), Valery Pashinsky (VBLHEP), Alexander Podshibyakin (DLNP), Aleksey Larionov (BLTP), Aleksey Butorin (VBLHEP), Polina Filonchik (FLNP), Milena Kalinina (Management), Irina Guryleva (VBLHEP), Olga Ponomareva (FLNP), Nadezhda Agapova (VBLHEP), Evgeniya Barzylovich (PCDD) took part in the 1000-meter men's and 500-meter women's races and took the second place in the overall standings.

On 14 September, the JINR team took the 3rd place in the city football championship among organizations and educational institutions. The team included: Vitaly Skuratov (FLNP), Daniil Podoynikov (FLNR), Sergey Levshenkov (CCD), Denis Shvidky (VBLHEP), Nikita Volnukhin (FLNP), Pavel Korolev (Management), Nikita Shurkov (FLNP), Artem Trofimov (Management), Alexey Chernakov (PCDD) and Stanislav Belyaev (VBLHEP).

In October, the 8th stage of the 3x3 basketball Spartakiad was held at the Raduga Sports Palace. The JINR team lost in the semi-final and the 3rd place matches in a close contest involving eight teams, eventually taking the 4th place (in the photo). The Institute was represented by Mikhail Matveev (MLIT), Vasily Semin (FLNR), Alexey Boytsov (VBLHEP) and the only girl in the tournament Elizaveta Bushmina (VBLHEP).

On 21 November, a kettlebell lifting tournament was held. 32 athletes took part in the competition. JINR was represented by Alexey Altynov (FLNP), Alexey Novoselov (FLNR), Ermukhammad Dushanov (LRB), Alexey Kurilkin (FLNP), Georgy Prokhorov (BLTP). Following the tournament, the JINR team took the second place in the overall team standings, losing to the Dubna University team.

The Spartakiad ended with the air rifle shooting competition, where the JINR team took the first place (in the photo). Alexey Livanov (VBLHEP), Kakhramon Mamatkulov (FLNP), Tatyana Zhironkina (VBLHEP), Andrey Churakov (FLNP), Evgeny Koval BLTP) competed for the Institute.

We would like to express our gratitude to all the athletes that took part in the Spartakiad in cross-country skiing, chess, volleyball, swimming, table tennis, track and field, football, streetball, kettlebell lifting and rifle shooting, where every result is very important. In science and sports, we are one big friendly team!

In total, in 2024, we held 58 tournaments in 14 sports, including such major ones as the Sports Games dedicated to the Institute's Foundation Day, the swimming competition in memory of Georgy Flerov, the 25th tennis tournament in memory of the brothers Veniamin and Boris Dzhelepovs and of course, the 55th track and field race in memory of Vladimir Veksler. We held competitions in gorodki, chess, archery, table tennis, volleyball and football dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Stadium "Nauka".

Our athletes participated in many Russian and international competitions in swimming, triathlon, hockey, tennis, table tennis, cross-country skiing and many other sports. We keep improving sports grounds for comfortable sports and leisure activities for employees.
