Current problems
of the physics of the microworld

On 28 August, the XV International School-Conference "Actual Problems of the Physics of the Microworld" was held in Minsk, organized by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, the Institute of Nuclear Problems of the Belarusian State University and the B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The working programme of the event started with a report by JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov on the development of science at the Institute, the current state and plans for the future. FLNR Scientific Leader Yu.Oganessian, his Deputy M.Itkis and FLNR Director S.Sidorchuk will speak at the Conference in the section "Physics of heavy ions". Vice-Director of the Institute V.Kekelidze will talk about the NICA project, MLIT Director S.Shmatov will talk about physics beyond the Standard Model at the LHC. Invited lectures will be delivered by Head of the FLNP Department A.Belushkin and Advisor to the DLNP Directorate N.Rusakovich.
