Exhibition in the Science and Technology Library of JINR

From 10 April, the Science and Technology Library of JINR hosts a literature exhibition dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of Venedikt Petrovich Dzhelepov, a scientist that is considered to be one of the originators of the Institute, was one of the designers of the first, largest synchrocyclotron in the world, Director of the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems from 1956 to 1989, a RAS Corresponding Member.

He was among the founders of a new area of nuclear physics in the USSR - High Energy Particle Physics and carried out fundamental research in the Mu-Catalysis Physics. For the first time in the USSR, research was implemented headed by V.P.Dzhelepov that subsequently allowed to use charged particle beams for treatment of oncological diseases. The pages of the presented publications reflect all the versatility of Venedikt Petrovich's scientific interests and one can see interesting photographs, as well as complete bibliography of his papers.
