World of the beautiful and the sublime

On 7 September, an open day was held at the JINR Cultural Centre "Mir". And immediately beyond the threshold of the guests of the event, a special atmosphere greeted: Vysotsky's voice in the Green Hall, rare shots of the old Dubna, historical articles from the JINR weekly, photo zones and in general, a combination of culture, science and education.

The day was filled with inspiration - this is acquaintance with creative studios and master classes, open lessons and meetings with professional teachers, vivid impressions of live performance of compositions of various musical genres - from classics to rock!

Everyone could visit the Small Hall, where the interactive exhibition "JINR basic facilities" is located. The excursion was conducted by the employees of the Department for Development of Educational Programmes of the UC Oleg Smirnov and Yury Panebrattsev that stated: "Today is a wonderful event, there are a lot of visitors and it turned out so well - usually we organize a large number of excursions and children come with teachers and then, they came with their parents, who tell them about the Institute, introduce them to science. It is important to develop interest in this way - through the communication of generations. The main thing is that such a new form has turned out, the whole day can be spent in the world of science. Family scientific communication should become a tradition."

Open vocal classes for children from 6 to 16 years old were held in the choir class. Teacher of the highest category Elena Khritankova commented: "First of all, an open lesson is an "advertising" event. The visitors were presented with the atmosphere of the lesson, the cooperation of singers and the leader, exercises for the development of singing skills and a repertoire. This is important for us to attract new talented members to the team."

Acquaintance with the art of ballet took place at the lesson "Entertaining choreography" for children 4-7 years old. Teacher of the highest category Anastasia Silkina said that "this is a wonderful opportunity to show the guests the learning process in the choreographic group "Fantasia", for children it is an invaluable experience and a good start to a new, creative season. For our team, this season is jubilee, in April, on the big stage of the Cultural Centre "Mir" we will celebrate our 60th anniversary!"

It was possible to learn the secrets of movement and rhythm at a master class from the dance studio "Fifth Element". Teacher-choreographer Varvara Gorlanova said in an interview: "For us, Open Day is the most long-awaited and inspiring holiday. We have prepared a special interactive format so that our guests cannot just watch, but immediately try themselves in dance. It is at such events that we find new talented children and like-minded people. This day gave us many new friends!"

Everyone could check the sense of rhythm and understand what is behind each movement in the dance at the master class of the head of the flamenco school "Al-Andalus" Margarita Perez. "It was important for us to show the place where the classes take place, introduce the teacher and give a master class," M.Perez says. "The first thing our guests saw was a spacious dance hall, where flamenco is taught, where our lessons are held every week and new productions are born and performances on the big stage are rehearsed. To better understand the methodology of our classes, it is important to communicate with teachers personally. At the first meeting, I tried to convey through the dance the energy, temperament and style characteristic of flamenco. I also showed exercises that develop students. And the flamenco master class was an excellent opportunity for everyone to try themselves in a new dance discipline. The participants not only learnt about the basics of flamenco, but also received an assessment of their abilities and recommendations for further development."

The exhibition hall hosted a performance by the vocal ensemble "Metelitsa". "We all sometimes need to brighten up everyday life by immersing ourselves in the world of the beautiful and sublime," the head of the ensemble Vladimir Nemtsev says. "And in this sense, Open Day perfectly serves as a change in our feelings, emotions, impressions. The many studios of the Cultural Centre can reveal themselves, show and for some even become a real discovery. It is imperative to come to such events to learn, to be surprised, to contemplate and to participate in creative events."

An exciting master class in acting for children from 6 years old was conducted by a teacher of the highest category Yuliana Kukarnikova. For her, Open Day is an opportunity to leave the rehearsal room and to meet future friends. "We gladly showed the guests exciting acting trainings: how to work with emotions, to improvise and to reveal creative potential," Yu.V.Kukarnikova said. "Seeing the interest and joy of the participants is the best motivation for us. Such days energize the team for the whole year and give inspiration and confidence in our mission! "

A unique opportunity to try yourself in the art of "Kendo" was presented thanks to the students and teacher of the Japanese fencing club Pavel Nekhoroshkov. "Our kendo club "Dubna" appeared within the walls of the Cultural Centre 13 years ago," he explained. "Thanks to the support of the Directorate of the Cultural Centre, we manage to conduct classes on an ongoing basis in the ballet hall and attract new people who want to learn the art of the Sword Way. It is in this that such events help, in which you can communicate in free form with those interested. Demonstrations and open training allow us to see from the outside and we can train our qualities in the presence of the audience. An important point is the ability to explain all the nuances, since when you explain, you yourself understand better. With each such performance, we improve the programme a little to show the most interesting and to intrigue the audience so that they have a reason to ask a question and to try themselves as a kendoki - a practitioner of traditional Japanese fencing."

A master class from the PhilosophyDANCE dance club was held in the lobby, accompanied by the ensemble "Live Music". The head of the club Artur Borodin commented, "The dancers of our club know how to improvise in pairs at various dance venues in the city. We dance with pleasure at balls, milongs, to live music and at city discos. We are asked if it is possible to learn to dance like that? At the master class, we shared our philosophy of pair dance, talked in the language of tango, salsa, waltz, listened to the performance of the ensemble together. The musical band of "Live Music" is headed by Artem Kuftin, he believes, "There are several reasons why it is better to dance to live music: musicians can change their tempo, rhythm or mood right on the go. This is not only a challenge for the dancer, but also a space for creativity. The dancer can change movements, respond to the nuances of music, add his own dance elements in real time, focusing on musicians and musicians - looking at dancers. You cannot miss the dialogue with the musicians, communication with the performers makes it possible to feel the style, pace, accents. All this gives a special, incomparable emotional state of all participants in the action. Thus, dancing to live music is not only a joint performance technique, but also a special state of mind. Live music, by its nature, is a jointly experienced lesson that creates an unusual atmosphere where trust and mutual understanding are born."

The day ended with a bright performance of the musical rock band "People on the Moon". Leader Alexander Andreev stated: "Performing on the big stage is of course, an event for our group. Especially on the stage of the Cultural Centre "Mir", where in different years, our idols have performed - Russian and world stars. The Open Day concert allowed presenting our music to people who have been not familiar with our group before and allowed us to expand our audience. This is a unique opportunity to speak in front of a large number of spectators, to feel a little like a star. We are sure that this performance will be an incentive for us to further creative development." And at the very beginning of the evening concert, the musicians of the group "Timer for Breath" took the stage, performing several songs from their repertoire for the audience. "Our group really likes the Open Day format," musician Emilia Zaslavskaya said. "After all, we have a special opportunity to show what we have been working on for so long, in which we put a lot of effort and energy. We love creativity and want to share it with listeners and spectators. Who else but artists find it important and valuable!"

The staff of the JINR Cultural Centre "Mir" made every effort so that on this day the sounds of music, colors, emotions and skill of our teams inspired visitors to reveal their own talents. In the year of celebrating the 70th anniversary of JINR, the programme will be especially eventful.
