History of science and technology on book pages

On 5 - 13 February, an exhibition of literature dedicated to the Day of Russian Science was organized at the JINR Science and Technology Library.

This event is celebrated annually on 8 February. The date was not chosen by chance: on 8 February (28 January according to the Old Calendar) in 1724, the Academy of Sciences and Arts was founded by decree of Peter I.

Books about the scientific achievements of Russia are presented at the exhibition. Chemistry, physics, biology, geology, geography, astronomy, mathematics, medicine, astronautics, mechanics, mechanical engineering... - not to list all branches of knowledge where the names of Russian scientists prevail. Leafing through the pages of books, you are once again convinced how much our country has given to the progress of all mankind. Also, a number of books are dedicated to the methodological foundations of scientific research, the design and implementation of the results of research. We are inviting to the exhibition all readers interested in the history of science and technology.
