Amazing brightness of being

An exhibition of wildlife photographers called "Field experiments" is held in the JINR administrative building. This exposition is part of the largest European nature festival "Primordial Russia", inviting one to learn about the wealth and diversity of the country's natural landscapes. Beautiful photographs demonstrate unique landscapes, animals and plants of Russia.

The Russian Federation is a land of contrasts, from harsh Arctic deserts with icy winds and northern lights to warm subtropical coasts, from vast Siberian forests to the golden steppes of the south. The photographs selected for the exhibition perfectly convey this variety of natural phenomena, where we move not only horizontally across the territory of Russia, but also from the sky to the underwater world.

The presented works are accompanied by the signatures of the photographers themselves that talk about the moment the frame appears. Sometimes, this is a good case and sometimes, a real photo hunt, years and kilometers long. Comments were also made to the photographs by the researchers of the State Darwin Museum that talk about the features of the depicted natural phenomenon.

All photographs have high artistic qualities. Impressive bright colors and piercing composition. "An elk came out of the woods right in front of me. He stood in the middle of the drooping grass and trees, shrouded in pink morning light..." the photographer Nadezhda Muraveva writes about her amazing photograph. There is an opportunity to see the beauty of mountain landscapes from a point that is not easy to find yourself in. Rhododendrons that grow above the clouds. To catch the attentive gaze of the beast that looks directly into the camera and to notice the texture of the feathers of the bird of prey. With greater understanding, to treat the resting boar in autumn foliage and birds that fell under the snowfall in April. To admire the macro photography of the world of starfish and the transparency of dew drops on the fine pile of the first spring flowers.

Not without a portrait of a fox that is generally a symbol of the festival. This choice was made due to the wide distribution of the fox in Russia, as well as its photogenicity.

The organizers are confident that the festival "Primordial Russia" serves as an important platform for dialogue on the preservation of the country's natural heritage. Through art photography, documentary films and educational projects, it demonstrates the fragility of ecosystems and emphasizes the need to protect them. Combining science and art, the festival reminds: by preserving unique landscapes and their inhabitants, we provide a future for the next generations.

It is also noted that vivid examples of such a balance are successes in the development of protected areas, the development of ecotourism and the restoration of populations of rare species of animals of Amur tigers, Far Eastern leopards, polar bears and bison. Their survival depends on the efforts of environmentalists and society. "Primordial Russia" contributes to the development of environmental consciousness through emotional perception of nature and practical solutions.

The All-Russian Nature Festival "Primordial Russia" has been held since 2014 at the initiative and with the support of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The project is also supervised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Moscow Government. The festival is held under the auspices of the Committee of the Russian Federation for UNESCO with the support of the UN Information Centre in Moscow.

The exhibition of photographs is held in the building of the JINR administrative building at 6, Joliot-Curie St. The exposition is available only for JINR employees and will last until the end of August. Opening hours: Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
