An agreement was signed between youth organizations
of JINR and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

On 15 November, an agreement on cooperation between the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR and the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (CYS NAS of Belarus) was concluded. The document was signed at a working session of CYS leaders, held within the framework of the International Science Festival of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.

The agreement is intended to stimulate cooperation between young scientists from JINR and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in order to achieve high scientific results and to popularize science. The agreement implies that AYSS and CYS NAS of Belarus organize joint events, exchange specialists and inform each other about upcoming schools and conferences. "In the case of international schools, we invite colleagues not only as participants, but also as lecturers. Where possible, joint field trips will be organized. Horizontal cooperation will also be developed in all areas," Chairman of the AYSS Council Vladislav Rozhkov commented on the event.

At the International Science Festival of the Union State, members of the AYSS established contacts with representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, in particular, with the scientific secretary of the youth organization of the Academy, with representatives of BSU, BNTU, as well as with scientists from the Joint Institute for Energy and Nuclear Research "Sosny" (Minsk), the scientific topics of which are close to JINR. "We have common ground with JIENR, we can engage in joint research. Young staff members of this research centre have already undergone internships at JINR and currently participate in joint projects: MPD, BM@N. The process of cooperation has been started and I hope, will develop even more extensively in the future," Vladislav Rozhkov summed up.

The Chairman of the AYSS Council said that on 28-30 November, the III Congress of Young Scientists will be held at the Sirius Educational Centre (Sochi), in which more than 5000 people from Russia and 50 countries of the world will take part. A thematic session dedicated to the Union State will be held. One of the urgent tasks for discussion will be assistance in organizing the School of Accelerator Physics that will be held at JINR next year. The first school was held in summer of this year, it was organized by VBLHEP staff members. Young scientists and specialists from VBLHEP, FLNR and FLNP took part in it. The second school will be held in 2024 on the topic of FLNR cyclotrons.

The Science Festival, held on 14-16 November in Minsk, brought together a hundred young scientists - 50 from each country. The goal of the event was to enhance cooperation and to involve young researchers in meeting socially significant issues of the development of the Union State. The representatives of JINR, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Project Office "Russia - Belarus", Russian universities and associations: Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Northern (Arctic) Federal University and the Council of Young Scientists of the Nizhny Novgorod region participated in the session of CYS leaders. During the meeting, the main areas of cooperation were outlined and tasks for the future were identified.
