Cooperation develops

On 7 - 15 September, the JINR staff members Oleg Belov (VBLHEP) and Kseniya Belokopytova (DLNP) visited the CANDLE Synchrotron Research Institute (Armenia). During the visit, together with the colleagues from the Institute of Molecular Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, they carried out an on-site experiment. An agreement was reached on the implementation of joint scientific experiments at the AREAL accelerator, as well as on the signing of a memorandum on the entry of Yerevan State University into the ARIADNA collaboration.

On 15 September, the JINR staff members together with the Director of the CANDLE Institute Bagrat Grigoryan visited the cosmic ray department of the Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory (Yerevan Physics Institute), located at an altitude of 3200 m. Head of the Department Professor Ashot Chilingaryan presented the large electromagnetic spectrometers installed at the station and other registering equipment that allows to explore the nature of various elementary particles that make up cosmic rays and their interaction with various materials. He demonstrated the operation of the experimental facility and answered numerous questions. During the visit, the group discussed possible cooperation.
