Learning about the plant "Tenzor"

On 1 August, a delegation of the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR visited the open day of PJSC "Tenzor" as part of the celebration of the 55th anniversary of the enterprise.

In 2023, "Tenzor" celebrates two anniversaries at once. In January 1968, at the level of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, it was decided to establish an instrument plant in Dubna, near Moscow. And five years later, on 6 August, 1973, products started to be produced in an industrial facility built from scratch. In parallel with the production site, housing, social and cultural facilities were built - the Bolshaya Volga district was built up. And "Tenzor" became one of the major city-forming enterprises of Dubna.

The youth of the Institute learnt about the history of the instrument-making plant and products, watched the work of automated lines for assembling electronic devices. Representatives of the AYSS were present during the tests of fire-fighting devices in climatic chambers, visited machining shops, a site for the production of gas fire extinguishing modules, a metrological service and an integrated assembly manufacture. "The main range of products was to be equipment for nuclear physics phenomena. That is why Dubna was chosen as the location for this plant - the city where the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, the international centre of nuclear scientists is located," the organizer and first director of the plant, Honored Machine Builder of the RSFSR, honorary citizen of Dubna Pavel Zhuravlev recalled in the book "My Atomic Age".
