Skating and skiing?

The winter sports season in the Moscow region officially starts on 1 December. In all urban districts, the preparation of ski runs and skating rinks is coming to an end. Head of the Department for Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs of Dubna Administration Tatyana Kharitonova spoke about what has been implemented in our science city to enable the citizens of Dubna to engage in their favorite winter sports.

- For skating, we traditionally have two public areas - at the Stadium of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research "Nauka" (right bank) and at the Stadium "Volna". In these public spaces citizens traditionally skate to music. The skating rinks are well lit, so one can play sports here in the evenings, there are good locker rooms and one can rent skates at the Stadium "Nauka".

So far the skating rinks have not been flooded, the weather has been unstable, but today the frost will allow us to do it.

As for the ski runs, we do not have any, we have ski tracks. A five-kilometer-long ski track, two and a half kilometers of which are lighted, runs on the right bank from the district Chernaya Rechka to the Ski Stadium "Yude-Kon". There are plans to organize a 10 km Health route from the Ski Stadium "Yude-Kon" through the forest park area to Priborostroiteley Street and Novoye Highway.

There are two ski tracks on the left bank: a three-kilometer route in the forest park area between the Ivankovsky reservoir dam and Zhukovskogo Street and a one-kilometer lighted ski track in the Makarenko Street - Volodarskogo Street area. Well, it's nice that Dubna will become one of the longest ski runs in the Moscow region: they promise that it will pass along the bike path from Yakhroma to Dubna.
