"Quarks-cracklings" invite

The first call to the club-workshop was delivered through information channels and was published in the JINR newspaper in No. 20 of 2 June, 2022. From this date starts the countdown of the history of the new community of the Institute.

In a few months, a cheerful company of those wishing to learn or continue to engage in fine arts has formed. We have visited the JINR artist Yury Meshenkov, have participated in master classes in watercolor and pastel painting, have acquired basic skills in academic drawing and have tried to work in the open air.

It has all started with the proposal of Head of Social Infrastructure Management Office Andrey Tamonov to organize a community of drawing lovers. He allocated space for a workshop in the building at the Stadium "Nauka" where Head of the club Anastasia Zlobina and the first participants brought their paints and easels. An estimate has already been drawn up for the renovation of this building. We thank the Directorate of the Institute for giving us another room for classes in the JINR Scientists' Club. Chairman of the AYSS JINR V. Rozhkov facilitated the purchase of new easels and art materials. The publishing department donated sketch paper.

This week, our first exhibition "Quarks-cracklings" opens. Quarks - because they have color, charm and strangeness. Cracklings - because they are tasty and cool. The Club brought together members of different ages, gender, professions. The artworks of Club members are various, as well. Some of them have been created in the classroom with a teacher, others have been inspired by the paintings of great artists or travels, the third ones reflect fantasies and experiences ... But they are all very sincere, although sometimes naive.

On 18 November, the first exhibition was open in the JINR Universal Public Library with live music and unusual paintings.
