Meridians of cooperation

JINR - Vietnam: scientific and educational projects

From 25 to 28 September 2025, the World Atomic Week, organized by the Rosatom State Corporation, took place in Moscow at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy. On 26 September 2025, the JINR delegation participated in the “Neutron flux symphony as a score of progress: how a research reactor “sounds” in daily life” panel session.

At the event, the heads of JINR and the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) signed a document on cooperation in personnel training.

In accordance with the session programme, Special Representative of the JINR Director for Cooperation with International and Russian Scientific Organizations, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Boris Sharkov presented the Joint Institute’s experience in organizing international scientific research at the IBR-2 Research Reactor. The President of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute Dr. Tran Chi Thanh spoke about the active research reactor in Dalat and the construction of a new research reactor in southern Vietnam. He noted the importance of cooperation with JINR, in particular, in the formation of employees’ professional competencies.

In the presence of the session participants, JINR Director, Academician Grigory Trubnikov and Tran Chi Thanh signed an addendum on cooperation in personnel training to the JINR-VINATOM cooperation agreement signed on 19 April 2019.
