Partnership as a museum resource

On 16 December, 2025, a trip of employees of D.I.Mendeleev and A.A.Blok State Memorial Museum-Reserve to the city of Dubna was held.

The goal of the trip is to establish relations between the Museum-Reserve and the Museum of History of Science and Technology of JINR. This visit was a return. In September of this year, guests from Dubna came to the Boblovo estate for the Science and Arts Festival "Mendeleev".

During the current visit, the employees of the Mendeleev and Blok Museum-Reserve visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. Especially valuable was the meeting with FLNR Scientific Leader Yuri Ts.Oganessian, who element 118 of the periodic table is named after. During the meeting, various aspects of the scientific activity of Dmitry Mendeleev, his life in the Boblovo estate and the current state of the estate were discussed. Yuri Tsolakovich was interested in the development of the museum-reserve, shared stories from his professional activities. He also touched on the topic of art, in particular, the work of Peter Brueghel Sr. who Yuri Tsolakovich gives a lecture about. Yu.Ts.Oganessian was deeply immersed in the problems of the museum-reserve and was interested in the progress of their resolution that causes special respect and appreciation. After the meeting, Group Leader at FLNR Alexey Voinov conducted a tour of the Laboratory.

Afterwards, the guests visited the JINR Museum of History of Science and Technology, where they were introduced to the stages of the establishment of the Institute, its achievements and work in current conditions for the benefit of the development of science. Director Anastasia Zlotnikova, Nadezhda Kavalerova and Kirill Kozubsky introduced them to the halls of the Museum.

The final stage was a business meeting at which the prospects for cooperation between museums and the Institute were discussed. Agreements were reached on joint projects for 2026. The next such event will be Science Day that is celebrated on 8 February.

The employees of the Mendeleev and Blok Museum-Reserve express their sincere gratitude to their colleagues from Dubna. We hope to develop a fruitful partnership.
