Awards

On 25 November, at a meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, RAS President Gennady Krasnikov awarded Head of the Astrobiology Sector of LRB JINR Academician Alexey Rozanov the Order of Alexander Nevsky for outstanding achievements in scientific research and many years of dedicated work. The award ceremony was held in accordance with Decree No. 844 of President of the Russian Federation dated 17 November, 2025.

Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Alexey Rozanov was one of the founders of the field of bacterial paleontology. The results of some of his papers are reflected in specialized reference books worldwide. In 1977, he joined the Paleontological Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences and from 1992 to 2011, he was Director of this scientific institution. Today, the scientist is Head of the Laboratories of Invertebrate, Paleobotany and Ancient Organisms at the Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is a RAS advisor and an advisor to Director General of the All-Russian Geological Research Institute of A.P.Karpinsky.
