School for teachers: lectures, methodologies and practice
On 27 - 31 October, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is hosting a Scientific and Methodological School for physics teachers from the Rostov and Arkhangelsk Regions, recruited through JINR information centres and Rosatom schools.
This event brings together 40 teachers that will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and learn about best practice.
Lectures from leading JINR specialists will cover relevant topics such as "Space radiobiology. Is a mission to Mars possible?" and "Advanced probability theory". This knowledge will help teachers to incorporate fresh ideas into their lessons and to inspire students.
The programme also includes classes on teaching and methodological tools for studying physics at various levels. Participants will be able to learn about the textbook "Physics 7-9. Engineers of the future" and its structure, as well as to gain practical advice on applying innovative teaching methods.
Laboratory workshops will also be included, allowing teachers to apply their acquired knowledge. Visits to the Kadyshevsky Lyceum and Dubna University will introduce participants to these educational institutions and help to establish contacts for future collaboration.
The participants will visit an exhibition of JINR's basic facilities and take a tour of the Institute part of Dubna, where they will learn about the history of the city and the Institute, as well as about the latest scientific achievements. The scientific and methodological school is an excellent opportunity for physics teachers not only to refresh their knowledge but also to obtain inspiration for new ideas for their lessons.
