On the festive day of 1 May, the Academic Choir "Belcanto", directed by Elena Khritankova, took part in the 6th Open Choir Festival "Singing Moscow Region", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The festival was attended by nine choral collectives from Dubna, Lobnya and Taldom. They were folk, academic, children's, as well as mixed adult choirs and ensembles.
The choral collectives prepared for the festival their best songs: military, folk, Cossack, dedicated to the Motherland, soldiers and their mothers. Especially emotional was the performance of a large combined choir "Buchenwald drum", "May Waltz" and "Victory Day" with soloists Pavel Novoseltsev, Andrey Levin and Vasily Chernikov accompanied by the ensemble of folk instruments "Serpentine".
"On this May day, Dubna was covered with cold wet snow but there was a friendly warm atmosphere on the stage of the Cultural Centre "Oktyabr". It's nice to meet like-minded people, people that also love to sing, as well as we do," the soloist of the Choir "Belcanto" Ekaterina Khritankova shared her impressions.
