Acquaintance with the Institute, meeting with fraternity

On 27 March, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of Mongolia at JINR, Senior Officer of the Executive Office of the Nuclear Energy Commission of the Government of Mongolia Suren Davaa and Director of the Nuclear Research Centre at the National University of Mongolia Byambajav Munkhbat visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

The delegates held a number of meetings with the Institute’s Directorate and representatives of the Mongolia National Group at JINR. One of the results of the visit was an agreement to hold a joint NUMAR-Gobi School in Mongolia in 2025.

Along with the delegation, JINR University Centre Director Dmitry Kamanin, LRB JINR Director Aleksander Bugay, and Head of the Mongolia National Group at JINR Ganbold Gurjavtook part in a meeting with Institute’s Vice-Director Latchesar Kostov. The parties agreed to hold the 2025 NUMAR-Gobi International School on Nuclear Methods and Applied Research in Environmental, Material, and Life Sciences in Ulaanbaatar this summer.

The delegation of Mongolia visited the Laboratories of Radiation Biology, Neutron Physics, and Information Technologies at JINR, where they toured the main facilities and held talks with the laboratories’ leadership. At the end of the visit, members of the National Group of Mongolia at JINR presented their research to Suren Davaa and talked about the living conditions in Dubna.
