Honorary Doctor of SPbPU

On 19 February, JINR Director Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Grigory Trubnikov was awarded a diploma and the mantle of an honorary doctor of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

The solemn ceremony dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University was held as part of the festive meeting of the Scientific Council of SPbPU.

"I sincerely and heartly thank you for the opportunity to become a member of the family of the famous St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and congratulate you all on your anniversary. Scientists explore what already exists and engineers construct what does not yet exist. Life brought me together with Polytechnic University a long time ago, working with you is a great pleasure," Grigory Trubnikov emphasized.
 

Friendship Award of the People's Republic of China

On 4 February, the highest award of the Government of the People's Republic of China for foreigners, the Friendship Prize was awarded at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Senior researcher at the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics Yury Gledenov was among the winners. He was awarded the Friendship Prize for his significant contributions to China's modernization and development of international cooperation. The prizes were awarded to the winners by Member of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Shen Yiqin. After the event, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang held a meeting with the awardees, as well as with the experts from Switzerland, Germany, Brazil, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Russia and other countries working in China.
