Medicine On the plans for development of the Medical UnitOn 31 October, the Joint Trade Union Committee at JINR organized a meeting with Head of the Medical Unit No.9 Irina Larionova that informed the Institute staff about the current status of the Medical Unit No.9 and the immediate plans for developing the institution as a multidisciplinary clinic.Head of the Medical Unit described the areas of activity of the institution: outpatient care - a polyclinic and health centres; specialized medical care - a hospital; high-tech medical care - a vascular centre, acute cerebrovascular accidents. The Medical Unit is part of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) that is under the jurisdiction of President of the Russian Federation. It provides medical care in such areas as gastroenterology, therapy, cardiology, urology, endocrinology, neurology, medical rehabilitation, occupational pathology, cardiovascular surgery, oncology, gynecology, traumatology-orthopedics, dentistry and a number of others. Along with traditional ones, new departments and divisions have been opened to provide specialized and high-tech medical care. A vascular centre has been opened and functions currently where 1600 people have been treated, 10 percent of patients have been provided emergency care. There is a medical rehabilitation department, a cardiovascular surgery department and an outpatient medical rehabilitation centre. The first Industrial Medicine Centre in Russia has been established (a pilot project), its task is to provide services to the working-age population. The Medical Unit is included in the federal programme for diabetes (equipment has been purchased for 40 million rubles). A palliative care department with 30 beds has been opened and functions today. In the physiotherapy department, medical rehabilitation is carried out according to the federal programme, using complex special equipment. The federal oncology programme is implemented in the outpatient oncology care centre, many modern drugs are used in treatment. A PCR diagnostics laboratory has been established and functions. The number of medical personnel has increased by 48 percent, including 53 doctors and 98 nurses. All the citizens of Dubna can receive free medical care under the compulsory medical insurance (CMI) programme, while the Institute's employees can also receive additional medical care beyond the CMI programme through voluntary medical insurance (VMI). JINR has carried out a lot of work to renovate the premises of the polyclinic and the hospital. The roof of the therapeutic building is currently renovated and in 2025, renovation of the premises on the 4th floor is scheduled. Over the past 3 years, a significant amount of advanced medical equipment for specialized and high-tech medical care has been purchased. The salary level in the Medical Unit No.9 corresponds to Decree of President of the Russian Federation, dated 7 May, 2012 No.597. The buildings of the dental clinic and women's consultation are under renovation. There will be a new dental equipment in the Medical Unit No.9, including equipment for servicing children. The own ambulance (3 cars) of the Medical Unit No.9 will be opened in order to drastically reduce the delivery time of assigned patients. The "Be healthy" chat has been opened in Telegram for dialogue with the population. CT scans are available 24 hours a day, the population is vaccinated, all the main vaccines are available, obtained from the Federal Medical and Biological Agency by distribution. After reconstruction and major repairs of the building, "Family Health Centre" will be established on the site of the former children's clinic on Vavilov Street. This medical institution will include: a clinical and diagnostic children's centre, men's and women's health centres. The children's centre will provide access to highly specialized doctors that are currently not in the city. A contract has been signed for the design of the building, the construction of which is scheduled for 2025-2026, the cost of 300-350 million rubles. Advanced medical equipment is provided. Work is underway to include treatment in the compulsory medical insurance programme. All fundamental changes in the Medical Unit No.9 have been carried out by the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia, with the decisive participation of JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov and Head of the Medical Unit No.9 Irina Larionova; work in this field is underway. At the suggestion of the TUC, in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement between JINR and the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia dated 18 August, 2022, in order to coordinate and to improve the efficiency of cooperation with the Federal State-Funded Healthcare Institution the Medical Unit No.9 of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia, including informing JINR employees and the citizens of Dubna about the available types of highly qualified medical and sanitary care, as well as promptly meeting issues arising when Institute employees seek medical care, a working group for cooperation with the Federal State-Funded Healthcare Institution the Medical Unit No. 9 of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia has been organized.
