JINR at the International Forum

In October, the V International Scientific Forum "Nuclear Science and Technology" was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. It was organized with the participation of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, CERN, as well as leading scientific centres and educational institutions of Kazakhstan. For five days, the employees of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research were actively engaged in the event.

The Forum became a relevant platform for discussing scientific achievements in nuclear physics, atomic energy, radiation physics and ecology, nuclear medicine, radiation technologies in industry and agriculture. Two international conferences were also organized: "Nuclear and Radiation Physics" and "Nuclear and Radiation Technologies in Medicine, Industry and Agriculture". For senior students, master's students and doctoral students in the field of high-energy physics, nuclear physics, nuclear medicine and accelerator physics, the representatives of CERN held an international scientific school.

According to the organizers, 340 people took part in the Forum, including 135 scientists from 15 countries. During the week, the employees of the Joint Institute presented more than 50 reports.
