At JINR, preparations are underway to carry out experiments on colliding electron-positron beams (power transmission line (PTL) facility) at CERN. Participation in this programme will provide Dubna physicists with the opportunity to implement research in one of the most promising areas of modern physics. Issues of cooperation between specialists from JINR, IHEP (Serpukhov) and CERN in preparing experiments at the PTL facility were discussed during the visit to Dubna of one of the participants in the DELPHI experiment Dr. C.Bozio (CERN).

Head of the Sector of DNAM L.Barabash, Head of the LHE DB E.Matyushevsky, Head of the Sector of LHE E.Tsyganov, Dr. K.Bozio (CERN), senior LHE researchers S.Mukhin and Z.Guzik, Head of the LHE department M.Shafranov are discussing the session plan on testing a prototype of the hadronic calorimeter of the DELPHI facility on the beam of the LHE synchrophasotron.

The winter holidays for the children of the choir studio "Dubna" were memorable. The senior choir, at the invitation of the Kirov Philharmonic, visited this ancient Russian city with a creative programme. V.Revitskaya noted: "The citizens of Dubna were received very warmly at the Kirov Philharmonic: the hall was always crowded, the audience was attentive. Here, the choir gave four concerts. And on the day of departure, we were able to watch on regional television the performance of the political song ensemble "Time," recorded at one of the concerts."
