Submitting applications for the Baikal School

Registration for the XXIV Baikal Summer School on Physics of Elementary Particles and Astrophysics, organized by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and Irkutsk State University, is open. The school will take place from 10 to 17 July 2024 in Bolshie Koty village (Irkutsk Region) on the shore of Lake Baikal. Applications are submitted until 31 May 2024.

This year’s event will include lectures by outstanding experts in neutrino physics, general relativity theory, the Standard Model, cosmology, astrophysics, neutrino astronomy, statistical methods of data analysis, etc. Lessons and discussions for student groups will take place under the guidance of supervisors. The students will have an opportunity to make presentations at the event. Additionally, as part of the school’s planned activities, industrial design sessions, an excursion to the Skriper Rock, and night stargazing will be organized.

Master’s and postgraduate students, as well as undergraduate students who have a special interest in the stated topics, are invited to participate in the summer school. The working language of the school is English.

There is no participation fee. Accommodation and meals (full board) will be provided by the organizers of the event.

The deadline for application submission is set on 31 May 2024. The registration form is available via the link. The number of participants is limited.
