Victory of our volleyball players

On 4-5 January, the 54th traditional New Year's volleyball tournament among men's teams was held at the Sports Complex "Vodnik" in the village of Bely Gorodok. The competition was prepared and conducted by instructors from the MBI SC Vodnik and playing coaches: D.Arsenkin and P.Chernov.

Seven teams from Tver, Kimry, Dubna and the village of Bely Gorodok took part in the tournament. Winners and prize winners are: 1st place - JINR (team captain D.Kazakov); 2nd place - Dubna team (team captain E.Zhelubenkov); 3rd place - Tver team (team captain A.Kuznetsov). The best player of the tournament is D.Zaitsev.

Christmas Tennis Tournament

On 7 January, the 3rd annual tournament dedicated to the memory of Academician Dmitry Shirkov was held at the JINR Sports Club.

The tournament was opened by Grigory Shirkov and Dmitry Kazakov that greeted the participants. 30 tennis players participated in the tournament in two age categories. According to tradition, Peter and Nikolay Shirkovs played together. A chief researcher in BLTP Alexey Isaev became the champion of the tournament for the third time and the sisters Sofya and Nina Shirkovs were one step away from victory.

Winners in the category "Old Guard" are:
1st place - Alexey Isaev and Mikhail Zakomurny;
2nd place - Andrey Kolesnikov and Valery Glavinsky;
3rd-4th places - Nikolay Dmitriev and Denis Novikov; Egor Chuburkov and Oleg Kozlov.

Winners in the category "Children 9-10 years old":
1st place - Ulyana Pulova and Makar Starchenko;
2nd place - Sofya and Nina Shirkovs;
3rd place - Alexander Shuvatov and Nikita Zvorykin.

Race along the riverbed of Dubna

Registration is open for the ski marathon "Nikolov Perevoz RIVER" that will be held on 3 February. The marathon route is laid out in two circles of 25 km and runs along an icy riverbed.

In addition to the 50 km marathon, participants also have access to a 25 km half marathon and 5 and 10 km satellite races. All distances are covered in free style.

Participants will enjoy picturesque landscapes, impressive cranes of the Dubna port and huge locators of the Space Communications Centre. The profile of the route is flat, the race is suitable for both beginners that want to overcome their first ski race and for experienced racers that want to show fast results. At the finish line, all participants will be awarded a commemorative medal and get hot meals.
