Exhibition dedicated to the Day of Russian Science

On 8 February, an exhibition of literature dedicated to the Day of Russian Science is opened in the JINR Science and Technology Library.

This year, the exhibition is dedicated to the 120th anniversaries of two great scientists, academicians, whose creative paths are closely intertwined and related by a common goal of serving science, designing a nuclear shield for Russia. They are Igor Kurchatov (12.01.1903-7.02.1960) and Anatoly Aleksandrov (13.02.1903-3.02.1994).

The collections of scientific papers, selecta, books and collections with memoirs of scientists, engineers, prominent figures of our country about the life and work of Igor Kurchatov and Anatoly Alexandrov are presented at the exhibition. Their names are inextricably associated with Laboratory No. 2, the Institute of Atomic Energy (today, the National Research Centre "Kurchatov Institute"), with the Soviet nuclear project, the development of nuclear energy in our country, as well as with the development and testing of the nuclear bomb. Much of the literature presented is dedicated to these topics.
