Russian Particle Accelerator Conference
RuPAC'23 in Novosibirsk

On 11 September, the XXVIII Russian Particle Accelerator Conference RuPAC-2023 started at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics of SB RAS.

On the first day of the Conference, Acting Director of the Laboratory of High Energy Physics of JINR Andrey Butenko made a report on the progress of construction of the NICA collider.

"RuPAC is among the leading Russian scientific meetings and has more than 50 years of history. The first conference, at that time, the All-Union Meeting on Charged Particle Accelerators was held in 1968," A.V.Butenko noted.

More than 40 JINR scientists take part in the event, 29 of them present reports on the topics of the NICA Megascience Project.

The goal of the Conference is to exchange information and discuss various aspects related to accelerator science and technology, beam physics, new facilities and modernization of the current ones. Special sessions of the Conference are dedicated to the issues of accelerator technology and the dynamics of charged particles in accelerators. The use of accelerators in medicine, industry and applied research is discussed separately.

The Conference was organized by the Institute of Nuclear Physics of SB RAS, the Prokhorov Institute of General Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the Problem of Charged Particle Accelerators.
