On the prospects of spin physics at JINR

On 4 - 8 September, the traditional Dubna meeting on high-energy spin physics is held at JINR in a hybrid format. This year, it is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding physicist, world-famous specialist in the field of quantum field theory and elementary particle physics Anatoly Efremov. Almost 90 scientists from research centres in different countries take part in the event.

The meeting was opened by Director of the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of JINR Dmitry Kazakov: "It is significant that this meeting takes place on a purely quantum phenomenon - spin. Due to the fact that the experiment has recently become very precise, there has been more talk about testing interpretations of quantum mechanics, in particular Bell's inequality. The meeting is dedicated to the memory of the great scientist Anatoly Efremov. Together with Igor Savin, whom we also remember with reference to spin physics, he has been engaged in this research for many years." Dmitry Kazakov also noted that at the meeting, the prospects for spin physics at JINR, as well as the future SPD experiment and its collaboration that has already started its work, will be discussed.
